💼 About the Role

The Operations & Governance Officer helps ensure the charity runs smoothly, stays compliant with regulations, and maintains strong governance practices.

You’ll work closely with the CEO, Trustee Board and senior leadership team, helping manage policies, risk management, reporting and operational processes.

🛠️ What You’ll Be Doing

📋 Governance & Compliance

• Maintain and update governance policies and registers

• Prepare Board papers and meeting minutes

• Monitor compliance with charity law and GDPR

• Coordinate annual policy reviews

⚠️ Risk & Audit

• Maintain the organisation’s risk register

• Support internal audits and compliance checks

• Develop risk mitigation strategies

⚙️ Operations

• Improve internal processes and systems

• Support budget monitoring with the finance team

• Oversee contracts and supplier compliance

📊 Reporting & Data

• Prepare governance and operational reports

• Maintain accurate documentation and records

• Act as the organisation’s Data Protection Officer

• Minute internal meetings

✅ What They’re Looking For

Essential:

• Experience working in charity governance or operations

• Knowledge of governance frameworks and compliance

• Experience in policy development and risk management

• Ability to work with confidential data

• Strong organisation and analytical skills

• Excellent communication with senior stakeholders

Desirable:

• Knowledge of GDPR and charity law

• Familiarity with financial reporting or audit processes
